St. Louis Rams Stage Controversial Pregame Ferguson Protest
What's another controversy in a season full of them in the NFL?
The St. Louis Rams raised eyebrows before Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders when several players walked onto the field in a "hands up, don't shoot" pose popularized after the decision not to indict Darren Wilson for shooting Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.
The players' move did not sit well with police. The St. Louis Police Officers' Association said it was "profoundly disappointed" with the "tasteless, offensive and inflammatory" gesture. It also demanded the NFL to reprimand the players involved.
The protest certainly did not distract the Rams -- they coasted to a 52-0 victory.
