Arrest Made in Air Conditioner Thefts

The Wichita Falls Police Department Criminal Investigations Section continues to investigate this morning’s arrest of a 61 year old Karen Bayless.

Bayless was arrested for Theft under $20,000 (aluminum; bronze; copper; or brass) a State Jail Felony. Bayless was caught in possession of a/c parts stolen from 2414 9th Street early this morning.

Investigators have been working since early this morning interviewing persons and searching for additional evidence. A search warrant was executed at Bayless’ residence today where additional stolen a/c parts were located. This morning's arrest was the result of a combined effort of several sections of the Police Department working together. The Criminal Investigations Section will continue to investigate this crime and if Bayless or others were involved in the other a/c thefts in the area.
