UPDATE (2/8/16 11:30 AM): The body found in the Wichita River on Saturday has been identified as 57-year-old James Sherman Hopkins. No cause of death has been released yet.
Original Story:
Wichita Falls Police were called to the 1000 block of 5th Street just before 12 noon Saturday after a couple jogging along the river trail found the body of a man on the waters edge near the MPEC.
Initial information from police is that they don't believe the man's death was a homicide, but the possibility cannot be totally ruled out at this time. The man was described only as a white male.
The body will be sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiners office for an autopsy.
