Yesterday (May 20) it was announced that the state would be ending the highly controversial CSCOPE curriculum on August 31, 2013.  While certain aspects of the program will remain intact, the lesson plans are effectively dead.  Many smaller districts have argued that they do not have the resources needed to adhere to the states so-called "scope and sequence" requirements, which are mandated by the Texas Legislature.  WFISD school board member Trey Sralla stopped by the "Rise and Shine Show" today to address this latest development.
