Early Morning Shooting Leaves One Dead

Wichita Falls Police are investigating an early morning shooting that has left one man dead and another hospitalized.  Police responded to 1400 ½ North Scott at approximately 3:05 am after receiving a call of shots fired.

22 year-old Rakim Hicks of Lawton died at the scene.  24 year-old Darrion Whitaker of Wichita Falls was transported by ambulance to United Regional Hospital.  His exact condition is not known at this time.

Police are now looking for a potential witness.  He is described as a heavy set, light skinned black male.  He reportedly left the scene before officers arrived.    Anyone with information should call Detective Tony Fox at 940-761-7762 or call Crime Stoppers at 940-322-9888
