My friend Bubba likes to golf.  He owns a set of Callaway's that, I swear,  actually whimper when he puts them away.  His obsession has taken him to many a charity tournament both at home and abroad.  Of course, Tulsa is his idea of abroad ya know?  He swears that many an election has been decided not at the ballot box, but on the back nine.  He claims to have had over 50 political debates on the links and the final results of over 90 percent of them have mirrored the actual election returns.  Now I haven't played in years, but I was on the course with this guy back in '92 when H. Ross Perot ran against "Big Daddy" Bush and Slick Willie.  Everyone in the group thought Perot was a joke.  His ears were too big, his ideas too far fetched and his persona too manufactured.  Most of the guys on the course that day thought Perot would put Bill Clinton in office.  Except me.  I was steadfast.  No one would unseat Bush.  I, of course, was wrong.    We had lunch a while back and this whole discussion came 'round. Bubba swears he continues to vote according to the consensus on the course.  I told him he was an idiot.  I can't repeat what he said to me here, but it started with 'F'.  I reiterated that he was an idiot and he ordered another beer.  He insists that the course favorite always wins.   But I'm a believer in voting for who you believe with your heart and soul is the right person for the job.  Do your homework.  Of course, I'll always tell you to vote conservative.  Early voting in the upcoming municipal elections is underway now.  Get the Voters Guide and please, just go vote!
