Green Lighting Turned Off On Famous Dallas Skyscraper

DALLAS (AP) — The tallest skyscraper in downtown Dallas no longer has its famous green outline.

Workers this week turned off the signature green neon lighting on the 72-story Bank of America Plaza building. The complex will undergo $20 million in previously announced upgrades.

Officials with leasing agent Peloton Commercial Real Estate say LED lights will be installed to replace the system that was last illuminated on Sunday night. Sarah Hinkley says the updated system is meant to enhance the light quality and color.

Hinkley estimates the project should be finished by November.

The office tower opened in 1985.
