Wichita Falls Man Charged With Aggravated Kidnapping After Police Chase [UPDATED]
UPDATE: A Wichita Falls man led Burkburnett police on a brief high speed chase shortly before 8:00 am this morning.
38-year-old Jose Armando Lara was taken into custody after crashing his black pickup near the Wal Mart on Central Freeway.
Lara has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and is being held in the Wichita County Jail on a $1 million bond. According to the Wichita County Sheriff's Office inmate roster, Lara has also been charged with evading arrest, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm.
According to police, Lara made an illegal U-turn in a school zone in Burkburnett. When officers tried to pull Lara over, he sped away.
