The other day I had the opportunity to sit down and receive a reading from Spirit Medium Maureen Hancock.

Maureen is an internationally renowned spirit medium, intuitive, teacher, lecturer, holistic healer and author of the bestselling book, ‘The Medium Next Door: Adventures of a Real-Life Ghost Whisperer.’ She is the star of the Style Network documentary, Psychic In Suburbia. "So basically I can hear your loved ones in spirit, and I can feel things like how they passed or significant medical history," says Maureen.

Before Maureen and I talked, the only thing she knew about me was my first name. During the call I tried not to offer up much information and allowed Maureen to do her thing. Some of what she brings up in the video above are 50/50 educated-guess type comments, but most of her descriptions of my mother and grandfather are pretty much spot on.

At the end of the video Maureen randomly mentions that I might have played the guitar but stopped. I didn't get a chance to mention it on the call, but back when I was about 14 years old I won a Fender Stratocaster from a radio station in Corpus Christi where I lived at the time. I took a few lessons to learn how to play it, but when you're a teenager having a pocket full of cash is rather appealing, so I ended up selling the guitar. Ever since then I do wish I had kept that guitar and learned to play it - so there's that.

You can see Maureen Hancock in action live in Wichita Falls when she brings her 'Postcards From Heaven' event to the Wellington Banquet & Conference center on Saturday, August 2, 2014.
