A new study found the most dangerous intersections in the state of Texas, and two different locations in Wichita Falls made the list.

Attorney Brian White decided that he wanted to know where and in which cities were the least safe places to drive. He worked with 1point21 interactive and the Texas Department of Transportation to analyze more than two million records of all intersection related accidents from 2012 to 2015.

After looking at total crashes at each intersection, injuries from an accident, and deaths resulting from an accident, they used the totals to figure out a 'danger score' that could be assigned. They ended up finding 279 intersections in Texas where 48 or more collisions occurred between 2012 and 2015. You can see the full list on Brian White's website.

In the findings, most of the dangerous intersections were located in Houston, San Antonio, and the Dallas Metro. That's not really a surprise, since those are the biggest cities in the state. In fact, the top 10 on the list are all from either Houston or San Antonio with Houston holding the top 3 spots.

Wichita Falls wasn't spared from the list. Two different intersection in our town were included, but luckily were pretty far down the list, barely falling in the top 250. Both locations happen to be within blocks of each other, too.

At #218 was Kell Boulevard at McNiel Avenue. Between 2012 and 2015 there were 64 crashes, 27 injuries and no deaths. The 'Danger Score' for the intersection was 145.

Kell Boulevard at Kemp Boulevard came in at #228 on the list. During the time frame, the intersection saw 75 accidents with 21 injuries and no deaths. It came in with a 'Danger Score' of 138.

In comparison with the #1 intersection on the list, The Wichita Falls intersections seem pretty safe. Bissonnet Street at Sam Houston Parkway in Houston topped the list with 335 crashes, 263 injuries, and no deaths. It's 'Danger Score' was 1,124.

Still don't let that fool you into thinking there's nothing to worry about with our two in Wichita Falls. Make sure you take caution at those and all intersections. This is one list we're glad not to be #1 on. Find out more and see the full list at AttorneyBrianWhite.com.
