Experience Family Wheat Harvesting With Dana Patterson’s Latest Book

One of my favorite local children's authors will debut her fourth book this weekend! Dana Patterson is a children's author from Frederick, and this Saturday she will debut her fourth book with a book release and signing event at the Urban Bakery in Walters.

Dana is the author of the "Honey and Peach Farms" children's book series, which tells the story of Dana, known as Honey to her grandkids, and her granddaughter Presley Peach as they discover different aspects of local farming in southwest Oklahoma and how that farming impacts everyday lives.

The fourth 'Honey and Peach Farms' book is 'The Family Harvest.'

Her fourth book is "The Family Harvest" and explores wheat harvesting and how it takes the whole family to get it done. Dana will debut the book at a book release and signing event from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Urban Bakery, located at 181734 US-277 in Walters.

The book signing will also feature bread from Urban Bakery featured in 'The Family Harvest.'

In each of the "Honey and Peach Farms" books, Dana tells stories about teaching her granddaughter Presley Peach about different types of farming, and they always talk about how that type of farming impacts everyday lives. In her fourth book, "The Family Harvest," readers learn with Presley Peach about how wheat is used for food like cereal and bread.

And for her fourth book, Dana partnered with Elisabeth Kirchner, owner of Urban Bakery, to show young readers how wheat is used to make bread. They even put together a video showing readers how bread is made with wheat! And at the book signing on Saturday, attendees can try Elisabeth's bread featured in Dana's new book, and get to interact with dog's from Elisabeth's senior dog sanctuary, the W. H. Pletch Sanctuary.

Dana's books are available online, and 'The Family Harvest' will be available to purchase soon!
