Unique National Dog Show Signs Multi-Year Deal with Wichita Falls

You may notice a lot of the same dogs around Wichita Falls the next few days, that is because a national dog show is going on at the MPEC.

When I think of a dog show, I think of all sorts of breeds being apart of them. They also do dog shows for specific breeds as well and the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America has decided that Wichita Falls will be home to their dog show for the next three years. This week is the first of three and here is what is going down.

Obedience, Rally, and Agility Trials Will be a Part of The Dog Show

I basically just want to see the dogs go though the obstacle courses. Something similar will be setup in Wichita Falls. Obedience trials feature dogs that are well-behaved at home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. A rally event is a dog and their owner navigating a course, side-by-side, as they steer them through a course of 10-20 different signs. Finally agility is a race against the clock as they navigate an obstacle course with strong concentration and speed.

Top 25 Invitational Wednesday Night

The Top 25 is an invitational event to acknowledge the owners, breeders, handlers & Chinese Shar Pei who have achieved the title of Top 25 Chinese Shar Pei in our breed by the number of points accumulated in the AKC show ring during the preceding year. The event includes a nice dinner and catalog of the Top 25 dogs' that are entered. The Top 25 Chinese Shar Pei who accept the invitation to participate are judged by a panel of three judges and the Top scoring dogs of the evening are then awarded according to their total scores.
