We have some amazing murals around downtown Wichita Falls and it looks like Coca-Cola wants to give some Texas cities free murals.

In case you were unaware, The United States of America will be celebrating its 250th anniversary of independence. This year it will be known as America250, Semiquincentennial, Bisesquicentennial, the Sestercentennial,  or the Quarter Millennium. To celebrate this historic year in American history, one of the proud American brands renowned worldwide is giving away free murals to mark the occasion.

Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages announced in the Texas Monthly they want to do three murals in different Texas cities. Ten cities have been nominated and one of them is us in Wichita Falls.

Texas Cities Eligible for Free Coca-Cola Murals

You have until February 28th to get those votes in and you're allowed to pick three cities. I only voted for Wichita Falls. Not helping another city get free votes to potentially knock us out. Click the link for more details.

Back in 1978, Texas Monthly wrote an article about the worst jobs you can have in Texas. Blast Furnace Operator, Chicken Sexer, and Highway Button Layer at made the list. In cruel twist of fate, the article ends with saying being a Wichita Falls citizen is one of the worst jobs in the state. "It’s hard work living in Wichita Falls. Most people would rather be charged by rhinos," the author wrote.
