Why Do We Do Friday the 13th Tattoo Deals?

Back in 1996, Oliver Peck of the Dallas based Elm Street Tattoo did a 24 hour marathon on a Friday the 13th. He wanted to see how many people he could tattoo in a day with the number 13. He was able to do 415 people for the first Friday the 13th tattoo marathon. Afterwards several tattoo shops throughout the country started offering tattoo deals on Friday the 13th and the tradition still lives on.
