Hey Wichita Falls, Can We Name the Snow Plows Like Other Cities?

Snow plows are about to be working hard the next few days. Did you know in other cities the kids name them?

Well yesterday the city of Wichita Falls announced the equipment that will be running the next few days with the ice and snow. You can check out their full announcement below.

In doing some research on our Wichita Falls snow plows. I discovered that the State of Oklahoma had the local schools name each and every one of the snow plows running in the state. Here is what the Oklahoma kids named them in 2023.

District 1

• Plowabunga – Eugene, 9th Grade
• Salty Susie – Brandi, 5th Grade
• Scoop There It Is – Josie, 1st Grade

District 2

• Lil Snow Peep – Palmer, Kindergarten
• Holy Plow – Damon, 6th Grade
• Snowy McPlowface – Stephen, 1st Grade

District 3

• Sled Zeppelin – Azaria, 3rd Grade
• Plowasaurus Rex – Parker, Kindergarten
• Plowy McPlowface – Juno, 12th Grade

District 4

• Clearopathra – Toni, 9th Grade
• Snowbegone Kenobi – William, 6th Grade
• Workin’ Snowvertime – Trevor, 12th Grade

District 5

• Scoop Dog – Ameia, 6th Grade
• White Lightning – Cohen, 6th Grade
• Sleetwood Mac – Name withheld for privacy at guardian’s request

District 6

• Darth Blader – Ava, 3rd Grade
• Ctrl Salt Delete – Marissa, 12th Grade

Wichita Falls ISD and TxDOT of Wichita County Need To Do This!

I was curious and I don't see anywhere in Texas that does this. Wichita Falls let's be the first! I was thinking maybe this summer whichever local kid reads the most books during a summer reading program could name the snow plow? We do it each and every year. Encourages reading and we get to have a little fun while plowing the snow.

WICHITA FALLS GOVERMENT STAY OUT OF THIS! You had a naming contest for the trolley and chose Fallstown Trolley. Why did we even have a naming contest?! Someone literally put in Trolley Parton and you guys went with the lamest name possible.

Just throwing out ideas before I am stuck inside all weekend wishing our snow plows had cool names like they do in Oklahoma.
