Texas Police Officer Saves Woman From Being Scammed Out Of $40,000
A Good Samaritan in White Settlement, Texas enlisted the help of a police officer to save a woman from being scammed out of $40,000.
Nothing makes my blood boil quite like scammers taking advantage of people. Only the lowest of the low would do that to someone.
But that’s the world we live in. Scammers are constantly changing their tactics to stay ahead in the game and increase their chances of duping people out of their money or personal info.
Experian has an excellent list of scams you need to be aware of in 2024.
In the below video, we see a woman approach a police officer at a convenience store after overhearing an elderly woman who had fallen victim to a scammer claiming to be with security for Chase Bank.
The scammer convinced the woman she was in trouble and needed to pay Chase with Bitcoin. Of course, no reputable bank is going to ask for payment with Bitcoin.
Watch as the officer takes the phone from the woman and lets the scammer know he is with the White Settlement Police Department and that she will not be paying him any more money. It’s amazing to me just how persistent the scammer was, even though he knew he was talking to the police.
The scammer was able to get $23,000 from the woman but according to a note at the end of the video, the woman will get all her money back.
