Times Record News is reporting that Melynda Weaver went into purchase 15-20 cases of water. Melynda either couldn't pass up a deal or she really likes to stay hydrated. According to her, she was given a rolling cart to help take all of these cases of water to her vehicle. Upon leaving the store, the sidewalk was very narrow and she lost control of the cart which ended up on top of her. A case of water weighs anywhere from thirty to forty pounds. No word on how many cases were on this cart when she left the store.

According to her court filing this week, Melynda claims that the Dollar General employee overloaded the cart or should have helped her carry it to her vehicle. This cart was for in store use only and that it was not suitable to handle multiple cases of water. She is seeking damages between $250,000 and one million dollars. Hopefully none of our Dollar Generals have to close because of this lawsuit, but if we lost one. I think we would find a way to survive with the other eleven locations.
