This Friday afternoon (4/18) all Wichita Falls citizens are invited to come out to Memorial Auditorium at 3pm for a special event to honor our fallen Texas servicemen. The press release from the Wichita Falls Public Information Office has all the details:

Area residents are invited to take part in a ceremony honoring Texas servicemen who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. The ceremony is Friday, April 18th in front of Memorial Auditorium, 1300 7th Street, beginning at 3:pm. The event will be hosted by Tom von Kaenel, a retired United States Army veteran who is riding his bike 7000 miles across the country from Key West, Florida to Juneau, Alaska to honor fallen heroes from each state he passes through.
The Sheppard Air Force Base Honor Guard will attend and perform a flag ceremony and 21 gun salute. Kaenel, with the help of those in attendance, will then read the names of the 596 Texas servicemen.
Local community and veteran organizations are invited to participate by providing brief remarks to the local community on the challenges that veterans and their families face and specifically how the local community can reach out to local veterans in ways that will best benefit the veteran, their family, and the community.
Local cycling clubs can also participate by riding with Kaenel while he is in Wichita Falls.  Those wishing to ride with can contact Terry Ryan by email, tryan@sea2sea.org, or by phone, 610-530-9021 or 484-224-6088. Complete details can be found at sea2sea.org and on the Sea to Sea Facebook page.
The public is encouraged to participate in any of the events of the day to demonstrate their ongoing support for US veterans and their families.
