It looks like southwest Oklahoma's weather has trick up its sleeve for Halloween. Tropical Storm Vance is expected to bring an unsettled weather pattern to the area later this week, and rain could linger into Saturday, Oct. 31. So it might be best to start thinking about a Halloween costume that either calls for a raincoat or rain as an accessory.

Although rain is possible in Oklahoma Monday night and Tuesday, the highest chances of rain aren't expected to move in until late Thursday with the heaviest chances expected during the day Friday and into the evening. The rain is expected to linger into Saturday, which could impact Halloween plans.

Oklahoma Halloween Weather Forecast

According to the National Weather Service in Norman, remnants of Tropical Storm Vance will move into Oklahoma late Thursday and remain through Saturday. The heaviest chances for rain are expected Friday, particularly in southwest Oklahoma and western north Texas. Other areas of Oklahoma could see a lighter amount of rain.

As of Monday, Oct. 26, the National Weather Service in Norman is expecting the heaviest rain to impact southwest Oklahoma on Friday and into the evening. Heavy rain will begin to taper off by Saturday morning, and is expected to lessen in intensity by Saturday afternoon and into the evening.

Halloween Costumes With Raincoats

As of Monday, Oklahoma meteorologists aren't encouraging the canceling of trick-or-treat plans this Saturday. The timing and locations of the rain are expected to change as we get closer to Halloween.

However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to consider a costume with a raincoat or umbrella this Halloween, or one that needs rain as an accessory. Below are a few suggestions:

Georgie from 'IT'

He may not be from the latest edition of the IT universe, "Welcome to Derry," but his iconic yellow raincoat and signature red balloon would be the perfect costume for a rainy Halloween.

Rain Show Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is known for loving "rain shows." The artist hardly ever cancels a concert due to pouring down rain. So this costume wouldn't even require a raincoat or an umbrella. And you can make it spooky by dressing from her "Reputation" era.

'The Notebook' Rain Scene

If you're needing a couples costume that also needs some rain with it, consider dressing up as Noah and Allie from "The Notebook," specifically from the iconic rain scene as performed in the 2004 movie starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

RTE Weather Meme

Whether you've seen the clip or heard the audio, a perfect rain costume this Halloween would be from the "Don't make unnecessary journeys" meme. The meme comes from an RTE reporter in Ireland during Irish Storm Desmond in 2015. All you need for the costume is a green beanie, a black raincoat and a microphone. And you have plenty of time to memorize her warning before Saturday's potentially rainy Halloween.

Marianne Dashwood from 'Sense and Sensibility'

In both the 2026 and 1995 movie adaptations of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility," one of the main characters, Marianne Dashwood, gets caught in the rain after experiencing heartbreak. This could also be a couple's costume with someone dressed as her savior, Colonel Brandon. However, it's best not to stay out in the rain too long and catch a near-death cold.

'Mean Girls' ESPN Or Something

In "Mean Girls," Karen Smith tells Cady that she has a fifth sense, like ESPN or something. A part of her body can always tell when it's raining. For your costume, just wear your cutest outfit, grab a microphone and go see if it's raining. You could even get friends to dress up as your camera crew.

Remy from 'Ratatouille'

Even though thunderstorms aren't expected for Halloween weekend in southwest Oklahoma, lightning and rain are what set Remy off on his adventure in Disney and Pixar's "Ratatouille." Your costume can easily be a blue sweat suit and rat ears. Bonus points if you use a cookbook as an umbrella.

Tom Holland 'Umbrella'

One of Lip Sync Battle's most iconic performances was when Tom Holland performed a mashup of Gene Kelly's "Singin' In The Rain" and Rihanna's "Umbrella." If you dress up as this moment, you're required to do the dance to bridge sequence in "Umbrella" if you come across a giant puddle.

Drew Barrymore In The Rain Meme

If you're trying to embrace joy this Halloween, then dressing up as the Drew Barrymore rain meme is for you. All you need are wire glasses and grey t-shirt, and to complete this costume, you need to joyfully dance in the rain.

'Widow's Bay' Shaman

Halloween is bound to be full of costumes referencing "Widow's Bay" this year. And if you're a fan of the show but might be trick-or-treating in rain this year, you can easily be the bay's Shaman before he gets sucked up into a mystical tornado. Other "Widow's Bay" costumes for rain include the Mayor and the Lighthouse Keeper. You could even get your grandma involved to dress up as Ruth. And for a scary option without a raincoat, the Sea Hag would be your best choice.
