Entries Now Accepted For This Texas Statewide Art Contest

Do you have a young artist at home? Do they love nature and maybe a day at the lake or river fishing? Then make sure they enter their artwork in this Texas State contest.

The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center (TFFC) is now accepting entries for the 2023 Texas division of Wildlife Forever’s Fish Art Contest. You have until February 28 to enter. This contest is an educational program that encourages our youths' interest in fisheries and fishing.

Tom Lang the TFFC Director said in a press release;

“The Fish Art Contest does a tremendous job of exposing students across Texas to the wonders of fish and fisheries resources through the nexus of art. We always look forward to this time of year when we are once again amazed by the outstanding work and artistic interpretations of these young Texans.”

This contest is open to kids and teens in grades 4 through 12. They need to submit a completed entry form and an original illustration of a wild fish found in Texas. Check out the 2022 winners' artwork here. 

They will also need to put their writing skills to work by submitting a one-page creative writing piece. Once the entry form is submitted, applicants will then mail their artwork to:

The artwork must be between 8X10” and 9X12” and postmarked by February 28, 2023.

Texas winners will then be automatically entered into the national Wildlife Forever’s Contest.
