What Does Joey JMZ Jimenez's Video Teaser Actually Mean?

I was scrolling through my social media feed, and I saw a very cryptic video posted by Joey Jmz Jimenez. The video shows a recording studio with a mixing board, and you can hear Xelencia's "Tú Eres"

What could this possibly mean? Inquiring minds want to know, so I reached out. Joey confirms that he will be joining David DeAnda for Xelencia's upcoming show in Robstown, Texas, on Saturday, September 26.

Call this an Xelencia mini reunion because all members performing on stage on Saturday have played with Xelencia previously.

While the video shared by Joey JMZ shows a recording studio, the group is currently not back in the studio recording anything. It was just a rehearsal. However, my mind started to run. Is a studio session coming soon? A live album? I looked back, and Xelencia has never recorded a live album. I am just throwing that out there.

Joey JMZ Jimenez started with Xelencia at the age of 13.

Joey Jmz Jimenez joined Tejano powerhouse Xelencia at the age of 13. In fact, Joey remembers playing at the West Key and Roberto's Cocktails in Victoria. Imagine a 13-year-old at the West Key, back in the day LOL.

The first time I saw Xelencia perform in Victoria was at Roberto's Cocktails on Navarro. At the time, his drummer was a 13-year-old kid named Joey JMZ Jimenez. Joey was so electric and animated on the drums. It was a performance that I have never forgotten.

Little did I know that young boy would go on to be one of the most electric drummers around. Performing with groups such as Xelencia, Kumbia Kings, Siggno, Koe Wetzel, and Vanilla Ice, among many others. Currently, Joey is one of the founders of Loca Pasion, a Tribute to La Mafia. You can find him jamming with Xelencia, Jaime DeAnda, and other during his time off.

Here is the full entertainment lineup for the Robstown Fall Festival.
