Amarillo Fire Dept. Responds To Apartment Fire
Fires in Amarillo aren't anything out of the ordinary. In fact, I feel like they may happen a little more than in some other places. There's a myriad of reasons that could be, but I'm not here to speculate.
Yesterday, June 12, the Amarillo Fire Department had to respond to a structure fire just after 5:30 pm at an apartment complex.
Where Was The Fire In Amarillo
The crews responded to 6801 Wolflin Ave., where they found a structure fire at the apartment complex.
Huntington Pointe was the apartment complex where the fire was located.
What Was On Fire At The Complex
When the firefighters arrived, they found an apartment that was full of smoke. They were able to determine the fire had originated in the laundry room on the premises.
There is no official word on what was actually on fire, but crews were able to confine the fire to just the laundry room, so aside from some smoke damage to neighboring apartments, no other units were harmed by the fire.
How Did The Crew Attack The Fire
They went with an interior attack of the fire and moved quickly to contain it. Ladder 2 made entry and had all units cleared just before 6:30 pm.
Smoke damage appeared to be found on the upper floors of the apartment complex above the laundry room that caught fire.
