
Large Swarm of Bees Causes Evacuation Near Windthorst Road
A large swarm of bees originating from a hive inside a house on Ireland Road in Wichita Falls has caused a partial evacuation of an area off Windthorst Road. Several injuries have been reported and one person was taken to the hospital.
According to KFDX, a neighbor said that a woman had recently moved into the house, which had been vacant for five years prior. The woman living in the house was stung and taken to the hospital, a police officer was stung three times, but did not need to go to the hospital. An animal control officer on the scene was also stung.
A beekeeper is in the area now managing the situation. Most of the bees have left the area, but some still linger.
