Adam Yauch aka ‘MCA’ of Beastie Boys Dead at 47

Adam Yauch, also known as MCA of the Beastie Boys has died at the age of 47. Back in 2009, MCA was diagnosed with a cancerous parotid gland and lymph node.  He underwent extensive treatments, including surgery and radiation

Yauch co-founded the Grammy-winning Beastie Boys in 1979 with Mike D. (Michael Diamond),  Mix Master Mike (Michael Schwartz) and Ad Rock (Adam Horovitz).

It is unclear at this time if MCA’s death was related to his cancer.

He leaves behind a wife and daughter.
