New Rules for Minors for 2023

Looks like the State Fair of Texas officially instituting a new policy for children under 17 years old at this year's fair. On the FAQ page of the site, a new section was added called "After 5 p.m. Minors Policy"

During the 2023 State Fair of Texas, starting at 5 p.m. daily, all minors, age 17 and under, must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone (21+) when entering the Fair. Parents, guardians, or chaperones may accompany no more than six minors 17 years of age and under.

Why Is This New Rule Put in Place?

Apparently during last year's State Fair, reports of an active shooter were being spread at the fair. These reports were false and allegedly started by some unsupervised teenagers on the grounds. News story on that situation from last year above.

I have no problem with this policy going into effect and honestly. The State Fair of Texas should be a family affair. Don't just drop off those kids, everyone go enjoy the fair while it's in Dallas. The final day for the State Fair of Texas in 2023 is October 22nd, so go check it before it's gone.

Texas Towns Named After Food

There are plenty of towns in the Lone Star State with quirky names. In some cases, the folks who came up with the name for their town were clearly thinking with their bellies. Here are nine of those towns.
