People all across North America got strange text messages early Thursday morning. Did you?

The texts all appeared to be from around Valentine's Day or mid-February of this year and had previously been undelivered. For some reason they appeared on peoples mobile phones early Thursday morning. According to multiple news outlets, including Gizmodo, the explanation has to do with Syniverse, a third party company that was being used by Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and other carriers.

William Hurley, Chief Marketing and Product Officer for Syniverse said that during an internal maintenance cycle, 168,149 previously undelivered text messages were inadvertently sent to multiple mobile operator's subscribers. Syniverse is reviewing their procedures to make sure this doesn't happen again.

So, if you got a strange text message the other morning this may explain why. If you didn't get a reply from your sweetheart on Valentine's Day it may be time to forgive them because they actually did reply.
