YouTuber Shows What It’s Like to Ride in the Hotter’N Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls, Texas
Thinking about doing that 100 mile ride next year? This guy tells us about his experience this past weekend along the way.
Keep Scrolling to Check Out the Video of the 100 Mile Ride
Well another Hotter'N Hell Hundred in the books from this past weekend in Wichita Falls. Thousands of folks took part in the annual ride. Whether it was the 10K or the 100 mile ride. Thousands lined up Scott Avenue this past Saturday morning and I happened to stumble on this YouTuber named Dale Wilkeson Jr who did the ride over the weekend.
Looks like Dale's page is dedicated to him prepping and doing triathlete events and this weekend he decided to do his first ever century ride right here in Wichita Falls.
Bike Prep
Dale shows off what he did to get his bike ready for the 100 mile ride. Doing a wash, lubing up the gears. Making sure everything is ready to go so he doesn't break down on the journey.
Dale Getting Into Line and Having to Listen to Me
Watching the video I heard myself at about the 4:45 mark. We have been broadcasting live from the starting line of the Hotter'N Hell Hundred for years now and Dale got to listen to me talk about HH100 History and all the things going on today.
The Flyover
Besides seeing the thousands of people lined up on Scott Avenue. My personal favorite part of the Hotter'N Hell Hundred is the flyover. Dale got a very good shot of the jets going overheard on Saturday.
Seeing Pyro Pete at Hell's Gate
One thing that all Hotter'N Hell Riders love to see is Hell's Gate. Once you make it here. You're in the home stretch of the ride. 60 miles down, 40 to go. You have to make it here by 12:30pm to finish the Hotter'N Hell Hundred. (Hell's Gate can close early due to hot bulb temperature.
Getting that Finisher Medal
Spoiler Alert, but Dale did finish the ride. I will put the full video below so you can watch to see what he said about the ride along the way. The Hotter'N Hell Hundred will be back next August and hopefully we get more cool videos like this next year.
