Skeletal Remains Found In Remote Area

A passerby discovered the skeletal remains of a human body today. The clothed body was found beneath the shade of a tree just off the 1900 block of Waurika Highway. At 3:01 p.m., Officers from the Wichita Falls Police Department received a call. After meeting with the witness, the Officers requested detectives from the Crimes Against Persons unit and a Crime Scene Technician. Police were unable to determine the age, race or sex of the remains.  The remains have been sent to the Tarrant County Coroner’s Office for autopsy. Police have not yet determined a cause of death, however the case will be investigated as a homicide.
