Earthquake Rattles Oklahoma North Texas, Kansas Saturday Night
UPDATE: Possible aftershocks already occurring. USGS has upgraded quake to a 5.6 magnitude
The United States Geological Survey has reported that a 5.6 magnitude quake rattled Oklahoma and parts of Texas, Kansas and Arkansas Saturday night. At approximately 11:03 PM CST, a quake centered near Shawnee, OK rattled homes from Central Oklahoma to North Texas.
Bible Baptist Church Pastor Mike Rucker said, "Our whole house just shook. The lamps even moved!" Pastor Rucker said he received a call from his sister in Kansas who said the tremor woke her from a sound sleep. One Burkburnett resident said his family home visibly shook as well. Reports are coming in of tremors felt in Arkansas, Missouri and as far south as Mineral Wells, TX. There are no immediate reports of serious damage or injuries at this time.
