
Oklahoma City To Kick Off Olympic Competitions In 2028
Last year, Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt announced that Oklahoma City would host two competitions for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics: softball and canoe slalom. And now Oklahoma residents who want to witness history in Oklahoma City can now make plans for 2028 as the official schedule for the Oklahoma City events has been announced.
Mayor Holt posted to his official Facebook page on Tuesday, July 15 with details about the 2028 Olympic events that will be held in Oklahoma City. According to Mayor Holt, the Olympic competitions in Oklahoma City will begin on what is known as "Day Zero," which is the day of the opening ceremony of the Los Angeles Olympics, and Oklahoma City will host the first and only Olympic competitions on this day, which is set for Friday, July 14, 2028. This will be the first Summer Olympics competition to ever be held in Oklahoma City.
The canoe slalom events will take place over nine days from July 14-22 at the OKC Whitewater Center. And softball will occur over seven days at the OKC Softball Park from July 23-29. All medal ceremonies for canoe slalom and softball will take place in Oklahoma City. The Closing Ceremony for the 2028 Olympics will be Sunday, July 30, 2028 in Los Angeles.

Tickets are not yet available for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Although it's still three years away, Oklahomans can wait to witness history in Oklahoma City. As of July 15, tickets are not currently available for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. However, the official website for the 2028 Olympics does have the option for those interested in attending the games to sign up for updates for when tickets become available.
