Child Attacked by Alligator at Disney Identified, Body Recovered [UPDATED]

UPDATE (6/15/16 4:00 PM): The body of 2-year-old Lane Graves, who was pulled into the water at a Disney World resort by an alligator last night, has been recovered, police said in a press conference today.

At 1:45 pm today, the Orange County dive team found Grave's body completely intact not far from where he was grabbed by the gator. Police say the boy likely drowned.

The parents have been identified as Matt and Melissa Graves of Elk Horn, Nebraska.

Officers and Deputies are currently searching the water near Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for a 2-year-old boy who was reportedly taken by an alligator.

According to authorities, the boy was taken into the Seven Seas Lagoon by an alligator around 9:30pm Tuesday night.

The family, vacationing from Nebraska with three children, were attending a regular movie night hosted by the resort where inflatable screens are in the lagoon showing Disney movies and hotel guests can sit on the beach to watch.

The boy was playing near the water when the alligator approached the shoreline and grabbed him, police say. The boy's father reportedly jumped into the water and tried to wrestle his son away from the gator but was unsuccessful.

As of 10:00 am EST,  the child has not been found. Four gators were trapped and euthanized overnight, but still no sign of the boy. Authorities have taped off the area and have boats and helicopters continually searching the area. The alligator is estimated to be 4 to 7 feet long.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of three resorts connected to the lagoon and is one of the resorts that has a direct connection to the Magic Kingdom park via the monorail system.
