The turducken: a de-boned turkey stuffed with a de-boned duck, stuffed with a de-boned chicken.  Fill in the gaps with some rice dressing and you’ve got a dish that would make Phil Robertson happy, happy, happy.  But who would ever have thought you could catch a turducken-style dish in the waters off Delaware?

University of Delaware researchers, who apparently have a thing for sharks, cast a baitfish called a menhaden into the cool waters off the Delaware coast in hopes of snaring a tagged sand tiger shark.  They got more than they bargained for.  According to grindtv.com, the menhaden fish was quickly snatched by a 3 foot dogfish shark.  This hungry little critter almost immediately became a meal for a much larger, and no doubt hungry, sand tiger shark.  The sand tiger shark looks scary enough to make Roy Scheider want to shoot him.

Down here in Texas, we’d make quite a late-summer grilled feast out of that trio!
