Celebrities threatening to leave the country, Hillary supporters in the fetal position and demonstrations in the streets: welcome to the results of Election 2016.  As I promised you during our elections coverage on the evening of November 8, no matter who won, tomorrow the sun would rise.  And rise, it did.  Much to the disgust of a few million people, the sun rose on  a land that will be led by a man many had dismissed as a mere caricature of a candidate just one year ago.

Donald Trump’s election to the White House does not spell the doom and gloom that so many of the political and Hollywood elitists would have you believe.  Celebrities such as Jon Stewart and Miley Cyrus threatened to leave America.  That of course is complete nonsense.  They are not going anywhere.  None of them are going anywhere.  Not because anyone would stop them, but because they are not about to give up the goose that lays the golden egg-the good old USA.

America has made these so called celebrities very, very wealthy.  They have flourished because of the freedoms afforded to them within this republic.  The Founders knew what they were doing when they set this nation up.  And speaking of republic, let’s get one thing cleared up right now: America is NOT a direct democracy.  We are a representative republic.  Our system based upon democratic principles of representative government elected by the people.  If that’s too much to process, check out The Federalist 10.

Can you imagine the outcry if, in 2008, American’s had taken to the streets to protest Barack Hussein Obama this way?  Every one of them would have been declared a racist and every protest would have been portrayed by the media as something akin to a KKK rally.  But yet we have students walking out of class in protest, people burning effigies of Trump and even outright death threats plastered across social media.  If any celebrity had declared a desire to leave America over Obama in 2008 or 2012, they would never have found work again.  The hypocrisy of the left knows no limits.

Donald Trump has an opportunity to prove that a political outsider can be trusted by the American people.  The American people want the border secured.  They want the wall.  Of course, it will take more than just a wall to secure the border.  Physical and electronic security, as well as people will all be needed to effectively secure the border.  It can be done.  It must be done.  Failure to follow through on that campaign promise is almost certain to ensure a one term Trump Presidency.  And that’s all the more reason for the left to continue to oppose border security.

Donald Trump has been elected as the next President of the United States.  And, just as conservatives and Republicans were expected to do in 2008 and 2012, Democrats and liberals need to accept the results and work with this President to make America even greater.  The Obama Presidency is mercifully coming to an end.  If there’s any hope, any chance at all that Trump will be more than just another politician, we all have an obligation to help ensure that he is just that.
