Huge Food Drive Kicks Off in Wichita Falls on Saturday
With Thanksgiving and Christmas fast approaching, area food pantry’s need help stocking their shelves to help those less fortunate. Tomorrow Kiowa Casino is teaming up with Townsquare Media’s four Wichita Falls stations to collect canned foods.
The annual Kiowa Casino food drive will kick off at 10 am Saturday at Eskimo Hut, in front of Cash Saver Food Store at Southwest Parkway and Kemp. The Wichita Falls Food Bank, Lawton Food Bank, Faith Mission, Devol Baptist Church, The Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma and other local area Food Banks and Churches will be recipients of the canned food drive.
The food drive will continue through November 13. Beginning November 8th, guests to Kiowa Casino can bring five large cans of food with a valid expiration date and receive a voucher worth up to $200 in free play.
“We are hoping to gather and donate over 20 tons of canned goods to area Food Banks and organizations in need of canned goods. We have been amazed how well our guests have responded to our Canned Food Drives in previous years”
Last year Kiowa Casino guests helped collect over 40,000 pounds of food. News Talk 1290, 106-3 The Buzz, 102-3 Blake FM and 92-9 NIN are challenging listeners to help reach this year’s 20 ton goal by bringing canned goods to the live broadcasts at Eskimo Hut at Southwest Parkway and Kemp tomorrow, Saturday, November 7th.
