DALLAS (AP) — Parts of Texas have been getting soaked as rain and cooler temperatures make their way into the state.

Oncor (ON'-kor) reported more than 15,000 North Texas customers without electricity Friday morning, compared to about twice that number overnight. Most outages are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Classes at Rockwall-Heath High School were canceled Friday due to no electricity.

The Arlington Fire Department used a ladder truck to rescue several motorists whose vehicles were caught in high water.

The National Weather Service put much of West Texas and part of South Texas under flood watches Friday. Temperatures were expected to reach only the upper 70s and low 80s in West and North Texas, and upper 80s in South and Southeast Texas.
