
Traffic Stop Turns Into Major Drug Bust
An early morning traffic stop on Sunday resulted in a major drug bust for the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies made a traffic stop at approximately 1:45am on Sunday. According to Deputy Melvin Joyner, The 54-year-old male driver, James Soumphonphakey, a 54-year-old female passenger, Sihavong Sysomphone Tonsavanh and a 47-year-old male passenger, Khamphane Sihavong were placed under arrest.
87.19 pounds of marijuana valued at $528,000.00, $1,227.00 in currency, $18.05 in coins, two French Indochina Piastre coins, a laptop computer and several cell phones were seized. The suspects are being held in the Wichita County Jail. All are charged with Possession of Marijuana over fifty pounds / under 2000 pounds. Bond has been set at $50,000.00 each.
