Wichita Falls Police Chief Dennis Bachman has announced he is retiring effective May 31st. Bachman reportedly announced his resignation by email this morning. Sources say he cited 'personal reasons' for his resignation, but did not elaborate.

Deputy Chief Manuel Borrego will assume the duties as interim chief while the city managers office seeks Bachman's replacement.  Bachman joined the WFPD in 1982 and has served as police chief since 2004.  Bachman was appointed to the position by the city council after the resignation of then-chief Ken Coughlin.
