Two arrests were made in connection with the investigation.  35 year-old Asif Karim Juma and 35 year-old Yovana Ballard were taken into custody.  Both were charged with Prohibited Activities under the Human Resources Code Chapter 33, a 3rd Degree Felony.

The arrests and search warrants are the result of several months of investigating Food Stamp Fraud involving Electronic Benefit Cards, more commonly known in Texas as the ‘Lone Star Card’. The investigation will continue on these cases as investigators sort through evidence gathered today.
