Clay County Traffic Stop Leads to Big Drug Bust
An early morning traffic stop in Clay County leads to the discovery of drugs, a large sum of cash and one man behind bars.
At around 3:00 AM Sunday morning a Clay County deputy stopped a car driving over 90 mph on US 287.
Once deputies had the car stopped, they conducted a search that reveled 10 pounds of marijuana, some 80 Xanax pills and 141 grams of hash. The estimated street value of the drugs is more than $56,000.
Deputies arrested the driver, 21-year-old Derrick Ryan Trujillo of Katy, TX and charged him with delivery and manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. As of Monday Trujillo remained in the Clay County Jail.
