Wichita Falls Police Arrest Mother/Daughter Team of Meth Dealers
'Take Your Daughter to Work Day' was started in the early 1990's as a way to inspire little girls to enter into the workforce and see the options they have for their future. This Texoma mother may have taken the idea a bit too far.
A mother/daughter pair of meth dealers are behind bars in Wichita Falls as a result of a traffic stop by the Wichita Falls Police Department. Around 4:00pm on Tuesday, November 15th, officers pulled over a 2016 silver Hyundai Santa Fe in the area of Airport Drive and Central Freeway for a traffic violation.
The driver of the vehicle, Budde Strickland, was found to have an outstanding parole violation warrant. According to the WFPD press release, Strickland admitted that there was methamphetamine inside the vehicle while talking to WFPD officers. Upon a search, officers found two bags containing about 44 grams of meth, a digital scale, numerous empty, small plastic bags, multiple cellular phones and cash.
There were two passengers in the vehicle at the time. 24-year-old Ashleigh Schlegel and her mother 41-year-old Deadrea Bruce. Both mother and daughter admitted to police that they were aware of the narcotics and were in fact selling them.
Strickland, Schlegel, and Bruce were all arrested and transported to the Wichita County jail. They were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group one. Strickland was also served with the outstanding parole violation warrant.
