Wichita Falls Fire Department Gets A New Rig
The Wichita Falls Fire Department has put into service a new Type 6 Engine that was 100% Grant Funded from the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS). This type of truck is primarily used as a Wildland Engine but has the capability of being used as the initial attack engine on building and structure fires.
The TIFMAS is a program that is maintained by Texas A&M Forest Service. The program includes grants, training, qualifications and mobilization systems to 'make statewide use of local resources'.
