Wichita Falls Police Arrest Suspect in Aggravated Robbery
At around 11:45 am on Thursday, August 24, Wichita Falls police responded to a reported aggravated robbery at the Lone Star Dollar Saver in the 3600 block of Sheppard Access Road.
According to a store employee, a white male dressed in all black entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene in a black Chevy Tahoe with an undisclosed amount of cash. The vehicle was last seen heading southbound on Sheppard Access Road.
The WFPD Crime Scene Unit along with detectives gathered evidence at the scene that led to an arrest warrant being issued for 30-year-old Edwin Leon Taylor of Burkburnett for aggravated robbery.
The WFPD Gang Task Force received a tip that Taylor was at a local hotel in the area of Loop 11 and Northwest Freeway. At around 11:20pm, Taylor was spotted leaving a room. He tried to get away on foot, but was apprehended after a brief pursuit.
Taylor was transported to the Wichita County Jail where he was booked on charges of aggravated robbery.
